Snicker.

Kat comes home tomorrow night, so you know what that means. Clean, clean, clean, and act as if it was this clean all along.

More dorks. When are people going to realise that it's a small number of people causing the problems, and that their leaders are just trying to get them to focus hatred on a easily identifiable minority to gather power unto themselves? Sound familiar? I guess people use this technique because it works.

When people criticize Zionists, they mean Jews, You are talking anti-Semitism".

- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a speech at Harvard University shortly before his assassination in 1968, from "The Socialism of Fools" The Left, the Jews and Israel by Seymour Martin Lipset; in Encounter, (December 1969), p. 24.

I just think this should short-circuit most of the people getting upset in SF this week. It would cause them to explode if they said Dr. King was wrong, yet they're very happy equating Zionism with racism as a sloganeering straw man justification for advocating terrorism.

No one ever accused them of considering ramifications of their opinions, though. It's more fun to bang on drums and say the jews are bad.

Got the quote from here. I'm looking forward to how people react.

I'm constantly amused at how the world turns a blind eye to exactly how evil Oracle is. Microsoft is one thing; they're focused on market share, and do some very sleazy things to get it. However, Larry is obsessed by his envy of Bill, and it makes him do truly vile and reprehensible things.

Microsoft is the big bully that comes up to you and pushes you around the playground until you give him your lunch money; Oracle is the weaselly little character who breaks into your locker, pees on your books, tears up your homework, rigs it with firecrackers, and steals your lunch money from your coat pocket. They both stink, but which would you prefer to deal with?

It is unworthy of excellent men to lose hours like slaves in the labor of calculation which could be relegated to anyone else if machines were used.

I don't understand this. Are they saying that A) AOL doesn't pay for any of its connectivity, and B) someone actually pays for the entire delivery chain for those Nigerian scam spams?

It continually amazes me how daft universities can be. It seems they exceed themselves every year with the number of cretins making policy. My entire intro cs class would have been disciplined if they made a rule against discussing coursework. Way to go, Georgia Tech, #12 this year, #50 in ten years.

Did no one having anything to do with this policy ever even consider how engineering programs handle this sort of thing?

I'm ashamed to admit that this guy is not the only person to think about doing that. You only wander into the men's lav when you need to go, and to see the only stall occupied and the other facilities being, well, underused. Hey, have you seen a japanese toilet?

I had wondered about this while watching the WTC mayhem. CNN wastes a lot of screen space, putting lots of different bits of information on screen at once, and never giving enough info on any single item. It works for the web, where you can pursue your area of interest by clicking. How should they present the info?

What I like about seeing other people's drawings is comparing how they determine how to express the essential form of the subject. My biggest failing is in trying to stuff every detail into a drawing. It makes for more things to go wrong, and it makes it even more likely that I'll become dissatisfied and stop before finishing.

Finally, a digital camera small enough to fit comfortably in my pocket. The resolution stinks, but hey, it's cheap, and it's only a matter of time.
