Fooooooood
Submitted by reeses on Tue, 2004-12-28 22:10. | food
I finally found a decent grocery store reasonably close to where I live. On the previously-mentioned scale, I'd say it's about 400 millilarrys, for the following reasons:
On the downside, just like Whole Foods, forget about being here if it's busy. For some reason, they follow the WF store layout model which encourages slow, indirect flow through the store. The aisles are roughly one cart wide, and they're not arranged on an orthogonal plan. We went on a Monday and didn't have much trouble outside the baked-goods area, but it's very easy to see that a weekend trip would be murder. I'll have to remember to go there on Fridays since I'll be home. Fooooooood (Oh, and they have juicy, juicy kumquats, the last of which you see here on my desk, awaiting its final doom.) We stopped there on the way back from the Apple Store down the road where I was looking at the newish 23" Cinema display to replace my current external LCD. (This would be easier if the PowerBook could drive two external displays instead of one external display and an external composite/svideo display.) I wanted to gauge Kat's response to the indulgence before one actually showed up in my study, and I think I might have a shot. I did buy a bluetooth keyboard, and I have to say, using a proper keyboard again has reduced the rate at which I commit typos significantly. Post new comment |
