I'm hilariously late in doing this due to the relo and sloth, but missing out on all these memes makes me feel like I'm about to be excommunicated from the intardweeb, so, I'll wrap them all up in one biggie, more Harper's Index style.

Books read this year: 791

Best book read this year: Kafka on the Shore

Worst book read this year: Thud!2

Movies seen this year: 2323

Best movie seen this year: Les 400 Coups

Second-best movie seen this year: Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle

Worst movie seen this year: Napoleon Dynamite

I don't track music as I do films and books, so I'm not sure what the best or worst Album/Song/Band I listened to was.

Cities I slept in this year (to keep 9000 airport hubs off the list), with * denoting more than one trip. This is a pathetically short list, especially given the 100k+ miles flown.

Bethesda, MD (Home) *

Muskegon, MI (Luge school to qualify for Olympic runs)

Minneapolis, MN (Work) *

Los Angeles, CA (Family visit)

Oakland, CA (Bar exam)

San Francisco, CA (Wedding, Bar exam, Work) *

Dublin, Ireland

1. I learned this year that it's ok not to finish a book if you decide, after the first 50-70 pages, that it just isn't worth it. This number doesn't include abandoned lit like "The Dante Club".

2. Yes, I know Pratchett isn't literature. But it's usually just well-written enough to stay out of the way of an amusing story told with an amusing quantity of cleverness. This measures in the wrong way on all of those scales.

3. What can I say, I watch a lot of movies. I can sit through any movie, too, and like 80% of them. There is some duplication in this number, as well. I watched some of my favorites a few times. Some came out in 2004 or earlier, but I watched them this year.
